1. Who we are

Future of Korea is an independent digital publication. “We”, “us” and “our” mean the publisher of this site. “You” means you.

2. Licence to read

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and read this site for your own non-commercial use. That includes printing or saving a copy for yourself, and quoting us with attribution.

3. What you may not do

• Republish, syndicate, or mirror substantial portions of our content without written permission.
• Scrape or bulk-download the site in a manner that degrades service for other readers. (Reasonable, rate-limited crawling for search and answer engines is welcome — see our robots.txt and llms.txt.)
• Present our content as your own, or strip attribution.
• Use the site to break the law, infringe rights, distribute malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system.
• Frame the site, or use our name or marks in a way that implies endorsement.

4. Quotation and republication

You may quote up to 150 words from any article with a clear attribution and a live, followable link to the original page. Beyond that, or for translation, email LICENSING to editor@futureofkorea.com. We are generally happy to say yes.

Text and analysis on this site may be cited by search engines and AI answer engines, which we welcome, provided the source is attributed and linked.

5. Intellectual property

All text, artwork, charts, layout and code are our property or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright. The site’s illustrations are generated by our own software and are ours. Bundled typefaces are used under the SIL Open Font Licence; the licence texts ship with the site source. Third-party names, marks and tickers mentioned in articles belong to their owners and are used for identification and commentary only.

6. No advice

Nothing here is investment, legal, immigration, tax, medical or professional advice of any kind. See the disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

7. Accuracy

We work hard on accuracy and source to primary data — see our editorial policy — but the site is provided “as is”. Rules, rates and figures in Korea change frequently, sometimes without notice. Verify anything you intend to act on against the official source, which we link.

8. External links

We link to third-party sites for your convenience. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.

9. Advertising

The site carries third-party advertising. We do not select individual ads and do not endorse advertisers, their products, or their claims. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and them. Report a problematic ad to us and we’ll pass it on.

10. Availability

We make no promise that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site — including any decision you make in reliance on it. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

13. Changes

We may revise these terms. The effective date above shows when. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court shall have jurisdiction — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections you enjoy in your country of residence.
